If Google Chrome auto sync feature is not working on your Android phone even if you are logged into your Google account and getting the “Android System Sync Disabled” error, then here’s how to fix this. It’s a known issue on Huawewi Mate 20 Pro, P30 Pro, Nova 8 series, Mate 40 Pro, P50 Pro, Y9 Prime, P9, P40 Pro and almost all other newer Huawei smartphones. Not only does it hinder with Chrome’s auto sync, but it may also mess with other apps’ sync features such as WhatsApp, Gmail, Outlook etc. and lead to Auto-Sync being greyed out. Well, you could manually sync every time by going to “Accounts” settings and tapping “Sync now” for the account you want to sync, but that’s no way to do things in this day of automation.
How to Fix “Android System Sync Disabled” Error in Google Chrome
Step 1: Go to Settings >> Users & accounts and tap on the three dots on the top right corner of your screen. Make sure the “Auto-sync data” option is enabled.
Step 2: Go to Settings >> Battery and disable power saving mode if any of them are turned on.
Step 3: Now if you go to Chrome’s settings, you will see the green sync icon marked as “On”. Tap on that. If you want to sync everything such as history, open tabs, passwords, addresses etc., just tap on “Sync everything” and you’re good to go.
